Rum Dums History

Greggy D and The Rum Dums started their musical journey together in 2010, when they were asked to play New Year's Eve at the Old Fort Bay Club. The musical style is a combination of; classic R&B, Rock & Roll, Reggae and their own originals. After the Old Fort Bay New Year's event was such a success, they went on to start and  headline a weekly event at La Hipica.

After a short while, the Rum Dums drew strong crowds and their weekly Thursday event was featured in an article of the NY Post,"Meet The Real Nassau". A year later, La Hipica got shut down because it was too crowded.

Soon there after, the Rum Dums were given 5 acres of land and founded a music venue called Philosophy  ( currently "Under Construction") on the western side of Nassau, New Providence. In 2020 "Covid closures" also put an end to Philosophy nights.

The Rum Dums lineup is: Greggy D (Guitar & Vocals), Tommy Goodwin (Lead Guitar and Vocals), Avery Lighbourne (Drums and Vocals), Senior Young (Bass Guitar and Vocals), Ash Mackey (Percussion & Drums). Musical guests and other singers often join the Rum Dums for many events.

Along the way, the Rum Dums have played at many other musical venues on New Providence, as well as, traveling to various islands to play other events.
